Incoming Web Comic! Get DOWN!!

Posted at 09:50 PM on April 27, 2009 Comments comments (1)

Yeah, after reading XKCD for like a year, occasionally glancing at Penny Arcade and Ctrl+Alt+Del, and only updating my knowledge of MegaTokyo every 3/4 months, I've decided I may as well have a go at a Webcomic.

I've got the wit, the required artistic skills, an idea how to write strories, what could possibly go wrong? Well, even if this is bad enough to end all life on Earth as we know it, I'm sure it won't matter as the Swine-Flu will probably get us first.

This hopefully won't turn out to be one of those webcomics that has a bunch of guys sharing a flat during Uni making quips and sarcastic comments about video games etc, although at the very worst it will just turn out to be another XKCD look-alike.

Thank you XKCD for making this last year much more pleasant smile

*Note to self, see if there is a way to change the Smiley Icons on this blog, or at least remove them somehow :/

**Extra Bonus Note- Try to remember what XKCD stands for

Front Flips and Water Guns

Posted at 06:30 PM on April 22, 2009 Comments comments (0)

For my sister's 5th Birthday, my parents gave her a 14ft Trampoline... But I think me and my friends have been using it more than she has XD

(Thanks to Sam for the Photos)

Untill recently, I've never had long sesh's on Trampolines, so now I'm making up lost time (and getting some awesome exercise). At the same time, I'm re-learning some old inline skate tricks and grabs to use, as well as finally learning how to front flip... and land on my feet, so it's not just a roll.

In other news, I'm working on my old Watergun I began to build almost a year ago.

It's made from Copper Piping and metal vavles and such, and the water supply is held in a large converted 18L agricultural weed-killer backback tank. At the time of writing this, it can only fire about 500mL per shot, untill I can get a larger Pressure Chamber Attatched. Also, range is limited to no more than 40 feet, due to the large nozzle.

My Copper Beast, pre-repairs, missing most of the important parts- notice the broken release valve, as well as the lack of pump, tank and pressure chamber  :/

Still, I've got it working again, I'm just steadily modding it further.

If you're reading this, and you think you want to build a water gun of your own, feel free to big grin

Oh, You want a link that can help? Well, ok, but only because you took the time to read this far- Check out Super Soaker Central for all your DIY Water-weaponry needs

Stunt Dummy Update

Posted at 09:00 PM on April 21, 2009 Comments comments (0)

I never did tell you what happened to Gary The Stunt Dummy, did I?

Don't worry, I didn't give up on him, I actually finished him in no time at all. Unfortunatly, I just don't have a use for him just yet, but luckily the weather here in the UK is getting better and I'm hopefully going to start work on making videos again soon.

Right now, Gary is folded up and inside a Fake Treasure Chest in the garage- The Treasure Chest is part of some props I built for my little sister's 5th Birthday party (which was awesome btw, I was a Pirate!).

But seriously, just so you don't feel left out, here's a few pictures of Gary to tide you by while:

A) I work on some other things... like getting a better job

B) Actually find a use for him

By the end of the first day, Gary's lower half already had the correct proportions

Gary could even stand all by himself!

(Although secretly he's being lazy and leaning against the wall)

After adding some ingenious articulated arms, joints and shoulders, as well as some padding and a Michael Jackson mask, Gary is ready to be dressed to match the actors ;)

Gary the Stunt Dummy

Hey Guys, I bet you didn't expect me to actually come and Update this thing right? Well, here I am.

You're probably reading this, waiting for me to get to the point, especially after the post is named "Gary the Stunt Dummy", right? Well, isn't it kind of obvious? After the title? Yeah, I'll go ahead and explain it then. I'm making a stunt dummy, after being nagged into it by my cousin.

At the time of writing this, he's half built, but I should be trying to finish him sometime today. We were stuck for names, but my cousin seemed to insist on "Gary", maybe after the iconic pet-snail of of SpongeBob?

But then a friend went and pointed out it could have been named "Gary" after Gary Numan (Read:New man, get it?) ((But not to be confused with the crowbar-weilding Gordon Freeman))

Anywho, Gary is half-built, I'm aiming to finish him today, but this depends if I have all the appropriate materials- I'm aiming to build him from scraps, making him a "Recycled" Stunt Dummy, as well as a zero-cost one. Also, He'll be a much simplier build than the Indy Mogul Dummy-build, for the fact that Gary is shaped from his "skeleton" rather than an extra layer of clothing (allowing for a quick change of clothes, everynow and again) ;)

(Your Typical Stunt Dummy, thanks to Instructables)

Right, I'll let you know when it's built. Oh, and I forgot to mention, I already have several ideas for videos, as well as general mischief ;)

The Beginning of The End

Posted at 01:48 PM on March 13, 2009 Comments comments (0)

Yes, as the title might suggest, I'm starting a Blog- My first ever blog actually smile

I'm not too sure what I should be mentioning here, but after a quick google on blogging (get me with my interweb skillz), Blogs should basically be "short", "snappy", "choc-full of links" and "written with a passion".

Haha, Well I can at least be truthful when I say I think this could actually be kind of fun big grin. I mean I already know I'm full of witty remarks (read: arrogant, vain etc), so hopefully I might get a few people reading this in no time, as well as watching my videos on YouTube...

Speaking of YouTube, I was at a friends place last night, and the general events of the night have given me new inspiration- I really want to build a stunt Dummy. I've got the materials and the Know-How, I just needed the drive smile

But, as fun as building my very own Stunt Dummy could me, I fancy at least getting this site running a bit more smoothly!

Wish me Luck,

Zak
